Incredible film, Oscar material. I cannot believe the poor ratings that "MAIN STREAM AMERICA" gave this film. These are actual events of the Buffalo Soldiers. If you have watched PBS where the German prisoners were given better treatment in some instances than our own men the Buffalo Soldiers. FANTASTIC JOB SPIKE LEE and I hope you get a nod from Oscar for this great film. I suggest the people that did not appreciate this film stick with the MAIN STREAM HOLLYWOOD COOKIE CUTTER FORMULA starring Jessica Simpson and Arnold Swa. films. p.s. I am caucassian.

This was one of Spike Lee's best films. If you followed the movie's contents, there were 18 miracles. The movie crossed all color barriers. It showed how once again the African American soliders surpassed the miltary's expectations and never received proper recognition. This movie is for those who have a thirst for knowledge and truth. It is a piece of history. It was refreshing to see, African American soliders who joined the war for respect and for the honor of a country who did not honor them, (but used them for experimental purposes) becoming the major force in winning the war. However due to a lack of leadership skills, intellect and cowardly behavior from the commanding officers, this country for sure would have lost that war. The movie also allowed you to see how other nationalities respected and appreciated the Buffalo Soliders. As an African American viewing this movie written from a African American point of view.......WELL DONE AND THANKS!!! If you don't like it or understand it, just sit back and enjoy,,,at least it is not forest gump...or ....et...............

Spike Lee should learn how to edit; first the story and then the film. The story wanders for hours and lacks the necessary tension of being surrounded by enemies. Doesn't pay off in the end either.

This movie was absolutely ridiculous. I should have known better than to watch a film directed by Spike Lee. I find it funny how he labeled the white captain as a stupid redneck who at one point is about to kill one of his own men and a young child yet he chooses to label a nazi captain as the sympathetic good guy. Are you kidding? Maybe if Spike Lee would actually make a movie without bringing race into it, then maybe it will actually be good. He hates white people, i get it. I got that after the first 5 movies i saw from him. Horrible story, mediocre acting, horrible scores. The only miracle at st. anna is that some people actually gave this movie a good rating.

Too many themes, too many characters to keep track of, and a plot that lacks direction. Long running movie and not worth the time or money

The movie was great...I don't know what movie some of these people saw...but everyone has a right to their own opinion..it's been so long since we've been exposed to truly great films that most don't know how to recognize them...

Movie is dreadful. Nearly three hours. The story of these guys is intriguing enough to keep you in the theater til the bitter end, but once it's over, you have wonder whytf you stayed. Spike Lee has done alot of fine films, this ain't one of them. A major disappointment.
