This movie had the makings of a classic war story based on comradery between military brotheren and destiny. Unfortunately, in the middle of this compelling story of the plight of our black military heroes and the rescueing of a young boy and how he rescues them back, Mr. Spike Lee manages to fill stereotypical tidbits of hatred against America, American military, and all white people in general... going as far as to portray the lead italian female white as a ***** and a Nazi general as a nice guy who does the right thing. What the hell??? Mr. Spike Lee has comically thrown together "Do the Right Thing" and "Jungle Fever" and has presented it in an Italian WWII setting, totally dimishing the true story that could have been very compelling. My advise to Mr. Spike Lee is - get over your hatred and try to keep small mindness out of good stories and just maybe then you will be recognised for greatness.

wtf?!?..this is something you will say when you leave the theatre after watching this movie. trust me you will be more upset at spike lee than at the movie itself. this movie had great potential but i felt like there were two movies crammed into one - kinda like Scorsese (war/historical context) meets Shmyalan (supernatural/religous context) on the same film each competing to get their vision across. Laz Alonso (Negron) was a surprise hit for me. even after all that i still say see it - but only when you are trying to duck something you have to do - like dishes, laundry...

Outstanding movie by Mr. Spike Lee! Entertainment galore, loved the secondary actors who made a huge impact in the plot By far, the best movie that my wife and Ihave seen all year. Possible awards for Hector Negron and, young boy and Giant Chocolate! Tremendous acting and beautiful scenery. A credit to the director and his staff.

This was a very interesting, mesmerizing movie. The racial scenes were very upsetting and quite sad to look at . The scenery was magnificent. The sheer strength it took the Buffalo soilder to bow down to the stupidity of his commanding officers was amazing. The sex/love scene was out of place. I enjoyed the movie very much. and give it four stars..

A masterpiece of cinematography by one of the most outspoken director's of our time; Spike Lee sets the stage for this emotionally charged war movie. In a quiet mountain top village in Italy. Jersey City, NJ native, Derrick Luke (Antwone Fisher) leads this cast. Racial prejudice is not ignored as in many Spike Lee films. A great Film

I saw this movie this weekend and I have very mixed feelings about it. I thought that the story and most of the acting was perfectly executed. I just think Spike lee got too amibitious with the intracate story line sub plots. Over all this movie was very entertaining and I liked it
