A fabulous story and a gem of an acting job by the lead actress. Excellent story with twists and turns.

One of the best film I've seen this year!!! Def. little scary, suspenseful, and devious :)

3* because I didn't like the development of the story; it made me realize that the director was trying to make me see his view of the story. Tha'ts... a no-no. Tell me a story but don't try to tell me what to see, conclude or think about it. I kept up with the 'movements' of the movie and I guess that's why I felt irritated. I spoke with some people afterwards and we all agreed that the movie had a lot of "folly" in it. That is, movies that have people doing wrong things for a "motive" --love or money or politics and power...will rest with the audience a lot better than stupid-looking people doing stupid-looking stuff for stupid-looking reasons. That makes everybody feel stupid, including the audience for coming to see such a thing. It was 3* good cinema that could have been improved by a much better script. --MO Full Review

An alluring piece of work, an artful whodunit that melds shrewd plotting with resourceful camera work and sympathetic characters that are fascinatingly, morbidly off.Full Review

Again as with Bong’s earlier films, Mother is a genre exercise that honors convention, yet weaves around it whenever possible. Bong carefully turns Mother into a classic gumshoe tale, with red herrings, interrogations, and moments of sublime suspense.Full Review
