Mr. Blue Sky confronts the issue of society's reaction to a man's romantic relationship with a woman with Down syndrome. After growing up together through young adulthood, a male schoolteacher has to decide between the love of two old friends, one of whom would cause a rift between him and his father due to the debilitating symptoms that separate her from the rest of their close-minded society.
