My hubby rented this, we had no idea what it was about, and it was pretty darn good. (yes, we live under a rock!) Lots of twists and plenty of suspense. I usually watch these things with my ears plugged and my eyes covered, can't stand thrillers, that being said, I was able to get through this one with little "cover" Not too gory. It was sold to me as a "chick flick" LMAO, it has Costner in it, what can I say? I took the bait, but glad I did!

I loved Mr.Brooks ,the truth is that mr.brooks was different and what makes it scary is that we all know that there are people just like him out there...and he never got caught in any other movie he would of died, gotten killed by mr.smith the cops or his daugther but he didnt... but you know what i sit here proud of the fact that i saw this movie four times and ill watch it again ...ICE BERG OF DIFFERENCES...we all think act and express our selfs differently...and personally love this movie and give it FIVE STARS*****

Good Movie! Good role for Kevin Costner. He is accused of being a low keyed boring actor. His style worked in this role. Movie had 2 or 3 plots and was interesting because of them. The main plot was clever and unexpected. Mr. Brooks at times was the "good" criminal if that is possible. Suggest seeing the movie.

Not only Kevin Costner and William Hurt (yum), but that dreamy hunk that played Smith, Samantha's hot young lover in Sex and the City. Wow, what eye candy, if not for that pesky violence. Actually, a very scary, but good and thought provoking, movie. Murder is a disease, like alcoholism? sometimes you fall off the wagon. Now how scary is that? And his daughter inherits it? and the guy who witnesses the crime wants to be a part of it rather than stop it? Double Yikes!! Is there hope for humanity?

I enjoyed Mr. Costner and Mr. Hurt. Costner is getting better looking with age. The movie was full of suspense. I got my moneys worth. Those who did not like it, to each his own. I'm going to see it again.!!!

I was very disappointed with this movie. The idea of william Hurt playing his alter ego was disturbing. The fact that he was a totally different person made it very unrealistic. Mr. Brooks relationships with his family had no depth. The Demi Moore character had her own agenda and didn't really seem to be just focused on catching Mr. Brooks. I also didn't like the idea that he got away with the murders. I give it a thumbs down.

I came into this movie with low expectations and came out very surprised. This movie is great and any fan of thriller movies should see it. The plot did become a little "out there" near the end, but it is still a good movie and I can't wait for the next two installments. (Yes, this is a trilogy.)

How this movie got good reviews is a mystery to me. What I learned from this experience is don't trust reviews. The only movie I have seen in recent memory where I couldn't wait for it to end and now wish I would have walked out to see if I could get a refund. Don't like hearing the "F" word in nearly every sentence, story line was dumb, and it wasn't funny.

MY SON AND I SAW MR. BROOKS YESTERDAY...AND CONSIDERED IT AWESOME.THE FLOW OF THE PLOT, THE SURPRISES, AND INTERACTION BETWEEN PLAYERS VERY CREATIVE. VERY THOUGHT PROVOKING... DONT GO BY THE AVERAGE RATING....THATS DECEIVING....I GUESS IT WASN'T ON THE "IT" LIST IN HOLLYWOOD
