Plot

A documentary look at the generational differences between the original 1969 Woodstock and its 1994 and 1999 follow-ups, Barbara Kopple's My Generation chronicles the festival's evolution from its original, relatively spontaneous and noncommercial genesis to the cash-fueled, product tie-in form it took in the 1990s. Kopple, a noted documentary filmmaker renowned for Harlan County, U.S.A. and American Dream, intersperses her film with interviews with Woodstock producer Michael Lang and various festival-goers, as well as footage from Michael Wadleigh's Oscar-winning 1970 documentary of the legendary festival.
