In the wake of World War II, German housewife Beate Klarsfeld (Farrah Fawcett) mounts a crusade to track down Nazi war criminals and bring them to justice. With the aid of her husband, Jewish lawyer Serge (Tom Conti), Klarsfeld holds rallies, builds public support and endures the vicious backlash of a beaten, but still dangerous Nazi regime as she gets ever closer to capturing the most dangerous and elusive war criminal of them all: the Butcher of Lyon, Klaus Barbie (Claude Vernier).
