There's nothing to distract you from a plot so tired there are tire tracks from other racing movies all over it. show more

Though overlong and formulaic, two things keep this street-racing movie of interest all the way to the finish line. The first is Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad"), a sensitive actor in his first major movie showcase. The second: some extraordinary racing sequences. show more

Ostensibly meant to be light entertainment. If light is synonymous with preposterous, frenetic and noisy, it qualifies. show more

Do not attempt to see this film, derived loosely from the videogame of the same name, unless you're prepared for wobbly writing, lead-footed direction and acting that must have been boosted by nitrous-oxide injectors, plus a starring performance that could have used a boost and didn't get one. show more

It's the cars, and the mega-horsepowered action, that matter most. With its driver-POV spinouts, wrong-way chases, and multilane median jumps, the movie is a roaring revel of an automotive fantasy. show more

This movie is so dumb for most of its running time, you walk away wishing there was less plot and pointless posing and more of the fuel-injected coolness that brought you to the multiplex in the first place. show more

Need For Speed is a flat, sexless movie that seems not to understand why people like to sit in the driver’s seat and rev that big engine: Because of the transgressive rumble in your nethers. show more

    A snoozy-but-diverting, lightly constipated B-movie. show more

The best parts of Need for Speed are the actual racing and chasing sequences — a true thrill ride for the audience as the story unfolds. show more

When the actors are in cars, the movie's fun. When they get out to argue, or seethe, it's uh-oh time. Happily, director Scott Waugh comes out of the stunt world himself, and there's a refreshing emphasis on actual, theoretically dangerous stunt driving over digital absurdities. show more

My opinion I thought the movie was amazing! Well reason I maybe one of a very few that rates this 5 stars because I love cars and finally a racing movie that have nothing but racing involved! I loved the story line! And I think Aaron Paul did an amazing job! My one and only question was whatever happened to the guy that owned the 2014 Mustang that Toby (Aaron Paul) ended up wrecking there should have been quite an outcome for that bit other than that I put this as my favorite move as far as cars!

See it at a matinee, when you have NOTHING BETTER TO DO on a Sat/Sun. Oh...and sneak in your own popcorn and 20 oz. Cherry Pepsi, since the theater was dumb enough to choose this movie for their line up.

Need for speed was a great movie! Filled with action, fun, and also heartfelt. The directing was great and stunts were very impressive. I can now say I am a huge fan of Aaron Paul!

'Need For Speed' provides a car movie with influence from the great classics, Bullit, Smokey and the Bandit and others! It's fast, fun and has tons of heart which separates it from the 'Fast' franchise! Go see it!

Meh, I wasn't expecting much, ************* have been called "need for directing". This wasnt a very good car movie. driving like maniacs on the street, just isnt that entertaining. This is like the KnightRider TV remake, one big Rustang commercial, who cares about a mustang?

Need for speed...ha! This movie dragged on in the beginning and then picked up a bit. The best part of this movie was the great cars, stunts and chase scenes, but even that gets old fast.

I saw the movie and I enjoyed the fast pace high engined speed cars. If you are interested in drag racing , this is a must movie to see. The total plot of the movie was a little weak.

Just saw it, was one of the better movies I saw in the last 2 months, and I am VERY critical. I did not feel cheated when I left the theater...Not Bad. Decent acting, OK story line and great cars...with a little well deserved tip of the hat to Carroll Shelby
