Upping its film distrib biz, digital 3D tech company Xpand has inked with Arclight Films to take rights to Spain and former Yugoslavian territories on 3D feature films "Mulan" and "Bait."
Xpand has also acquired the 3D remastered and colored version of George A. Romero's classic horror pic "Night of the Living Dead" from San Diego's production facility Passmore Lab.
Xpand has a majority stake in SolotresD, partnering with local companies such as Ignacio Puebla's consultancy Vercine.

Rob Rinow's horror comedy "Detention of the Dead" has an amusing basic idea -- combining the plots of "The Breakfast Club" and "Night of the Living Dead" -- but the occasionally clever writing is unfortunately as uneven as a zombie attempting to shamble up a staircase.

"The Jay Leno Show" hit a 1.2 in overnights once before, but was upgraded in the final nationals to 1.3. If the 1.2 holds, this is the worst "Leno" has ever done in 18-49.

The book that scared me the most was definitely Truman Capote's In Cold Blood , just because it was a true story and the acts in it were so random and horrific that (dum dum DUM) it could conceivably happen to you.
