I'm going to see this movie today while my husband is out of town. He would not appreciate it. The preview tells me this movie deals with the heart of a woman and how we wish our husbands would treat us. Can't wait! I know I will buy the DVD when it comes out and watch it again and again.

I agree with NIcSocj.... There are NO houses right on the ocean in Rodanthe. Also it's located on Hatteras, the island. I've stayed in Rodanthe before... BUT it's better to stay up around, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hlls, Nags Head..Duck... etc..ANYWHERE but on that island... The Misquitos on Hatteras Will EAT YOU ALIVE...It's awful... I have seen houses with AWnings... Look for the older homes.. Many have awnings... Perhaps not on Hatteras though...as the homes there are newer...

PLEASE SOMEONE, WHAT WAS THE HORSES ALL ABOUT? I MISSED THAT. SOMETHING WAS SAID IN THE BEGINNING OF THE MOVIE ABOUT THEM BUT I MISSED IT, WHILE SOMEONE WAS BEING SEATED.

This movie is horrible. Waste of time and money. Diane and Richard should be embarrassed! Nuff said.

If you go to see this please, please go during a very off time. If not you have to deal with snorting waaaa waaaaing and other noises. You can only take this movie in if it's QUIET in the theatre.

I have gotten hooked on Nicholas Sparks' books. I read the book because my son's horse is in the movie. I wanted to see if the movie was going to be like the book. The books are usually better than the movies are. Nicholas Sparks is a great author. After reading "Nights in Rodanthe", I had to read the rest of his books. I can't wait to see the movie. I am so excited about it and have tried to read everything that I can about it. My son actually was able to meet Richard Gere during the filming on the Outer Banks.

Just saw the house last month. Going south, it is the first on the left as you enter Rodanthe. They put the awnings up for the movie, had to take them down. House is condemned; septic system is almost in the sea. What a shame, beautiful house!!! I loved walking on the beach thinking that I may be in Richard Gere's footsteps!!!!

Nicksocj, the house is in Rodanthe on Mirlo Beach. We were just there (have been going there for 40 years) - it is the last one before the Nat'l Seashore begins. The house was condemned but it was because it needed a septic, and they are putting that in. But the footers are in the ocean and it won't be long til the ocean eats it up. Those houses on that beach are all just a few years from falling in. Dumb place to build a house if you ask me. THey did some of the filming in Ocracoke and Wilmington too, but the house in Rodanthe is the real deal. Course it doesn't have awnings!! THat is Hollywood ad libbing....

If this movier was filmed in Rodanthe, I dont have a clue where it is. there are no homes as close to the ocean. The beach is national seashore, and no homes can be built past the dunes. I have never seen a house in the Outer Banks with awnings--can we say hurricane. the trailers show a dark interior and flocked wallpaper--can we say ugly and humidity. Outer Banks homes are bright inside--lets talk sun here. The hurricane a few years ago did some landscaping rearranging and this house might be a result of that;however, the Feds will give a few months to get rid of damaged property, and the they will tear it down and send you a bill. The outside shots sure look like OBX, so maybe they built it and tore it down. We OBX'ers are are very protective of our little slip of land, so don't come looking for this house. I'm glad it wasn't filmed in my town
