wow. after reading some of the reviews on here...i was compelled to write one of my own. first of all, it seems like most of you are cookie cutter movie reviewers and most of you seem to be of less than average intelligence. while i agree that some parts of the movie could have been done better, including the ending, overall this was a brilliantly made movie. the acting was first rate and the characters were intriguing. javier bardem, as anton, is the creepiest villian to come along since hannibal lecter. josh brolin was quite good as well. tommy lee jones, i thought, was not as essential to this movie as the others. however he did add to the charm. i am truly baffled though, as to how this movie could be called a 'waste of time', 'trash',or 'stupid' by anyone who bothered to sit all the way through it. It was very well made with a fascinating script. i was enthralled from beginning to end. my advice is, if you like action movies, creepy characters and compelling dialogue, this is a must see movie. but if you like everything tied up in a neat little package, and you don't want to be saddened, outraged, or shocked. well, rent a will ferrell movie because you obviously don't have any taste.

Best Picture, huh? This movie is a perfect example of just how far off base the Hollywood elite continue to be. What a pile of manure. Don't waste your time. Spend some quality time doing something worthwhile. This was a waste of two hours.

Just watched it on Blu-ray. Won for best picture? All I can say is, now I will have 3 extra hours per year for other pursuits because I will never watch the Oscars again. Art or not, the judges don't adequately represent most people's taste in quality motion picture entertainment.

This movies ending made no sence. The Coen' think they are smarter then the rest of us, they are not.

Fernie is 110% correct, the cinematography's and writing of this movie combined to make one of the best movies of ALL TIME. Although, once the end screen came up I thought my DVD player was broken! I'm not a fan of endings like that usually BUT in this case after walking away from the tv for a bit I liked it.

I'm 14 years old and I AM A TEXAN and have read the novel and was pleased. I watched the movie and was pleased but when I saw some of the user reviews I was shocked by what they have said. LAUWINS1 really sucks and LOUZER1551 is an idiot. I THANK FERNIEDOG2U FOR THAT GOOD REVIEW.

Another triumph for the Coen Brothers, No Country has the perfect mixture of suspense, humor, and desperately compelling performances. The seemingly simple story hides a more complex narrative, and high tension is maintained throughout.

If this was the first part of a 2 part-er, then it was an amazing intro. If this is a whole movie, it is just plain old bad
