Whats the fascination with homoerotic films and tv shows? I don't mind what people do but the over saturation of this stuff is pretty gross imo. That and every TV show has to have a gay couple or it just isn't complete anymore... again nasty.

A great story of love and life, with a subtle flavour of the golden times of the past :)

mkanet -- You should take a diversity class. Learn to accept people. Just because your a bigoted homophobic ****, doesn't mean they should put this movie in some special section. You should be teaching your kids its alright to be gay, Its just bad parenting in this day and age.

They really need to put gay movies in a separate section; such as special interests. Not really appropriate; nor something I would want my underaged kids to see.

Village Voice
Director Bavo Defurne fills the frame with warm, bright color and the lovely austerity of the Belgian seaside, angling for a soulful, slightly hyperreal comedy rather than the pursuit of a political agenda or a boring awareness-raising endeavor. Full Review

Time Out New York
There are a million coming-out stories in various naked cities, and filmmaker Bavo Defume's contribution to the genre initially differentiates itself with a vibrant, creatively campy color scheme. Once the visual touches fade away, however, there's nothing to stop the parade of clichés. Full Review

Tender and touching, this gay coming-of-ages story is underpinned by a terrific, subtle turn from newcomer Florizoone. Full Review

The New York Times
Pim's withdrawn demeanor and inability to verbalize his emotions - the character is basically one big ache - make it more challenging than it should be to immerse ourselves in his journey. Full Review
Robert Abele
Los Angeles Times
Though not without its mini-heartbreaks and melancholic turns, North Sea Texas explores emergent sexuality and first love with a refreshing optimism. Full Review
