Notes From Under The Volcano

Unlike Christian Blackwood's documentary covering this identical subject, Gary Conklin has not gone into depth on the making of Under The Volcano but stays with views of the camera crew, director, and actors at work, as well as some comical scenes of real-life prostitutes (who played prostitutes in Huston's film), joking around with Huston. These latter scenes were also shot by Blackwood, but are not quite as frank or open. Light and fluffy, this is not a documentary for those curious about how and why and under what circumstances Huston created his award-winning movie.
