Not worth the effort. No originality whatsoever. A cross between the Matrix and Independence Day.

Thought it was a very slow moving jumble of special effects for the first half hour. After that the plot thickens and the action is still over the top, but has purpose. Overall a good movie if you have the patience to stay with it 1/4 to 1/3 of the way through.

Wow this is an awful movie. As a science fiction love I had such high expectations and was brutally disappointed. There are only about 5 people in the whole movie with Tom on the screen most of the time. Convoluted, contrived CGI doesn't help the story as all. I want my 2 hrs. back please.

Great Story. Tom Cruise scores again. Well worth watching for the special effects alone! Impressed, as usual, with Morgan Freeman's performance; it seems effortless and genuine.

Oblivion has enough special-effects artistry to keep you distracted for a while. But all the eye candy in the world can’t mask the sensation that you’ve seen this all before…and done better. Full Review

The good news: Here's a lavish, serious science-fiction picture, one that on occasion transcends big-budget hit-making convention to glance against grandeur...Which brings us to Tom Cruise, the not-necessarily-good news. However engaging its end-times mysteries, Oblivion is still a Tom Cruise movie. Full Review

The story probably doesn’t stand up to heavy scrutiny, and at times the effort by star and director shows. But at least the effort is there. Full Review

Oblivion is a slick spectacle — seeing the humorless but ultra-fit Tom Cruise wrestle with himself might be worth the price of admission alone. Full Review

The mystery posed by Oblivion as a whole is why its mysteries are posed so clumsily, and worked out so murkily. Full Review
