    Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter

The filmmakers, longtime music video veterans, have delivered a technically polished production that belies the film's low budget. They've also elicited mostly strong performances. show more

October Baby is being promoted as a Christian film, and it could have been an effective one. Rachel Hendrix is surprisingly capable in her first feature role, and Jasmine Guy is superb in her scene. Unfortunately, the film as a whole is amateurish and ungainly, can't find a consistent tone, is too long, is overladen with music that tries to paraphrase the story and is photographed with too many beauty shots that slow the progress. show more

Extended scenes are dominated by heavy dialogue, while the lighter moments are relegated to montages of prancing across a beach, for example, which simply aren't that effective at buoying the drama. show more

Its anti-abortion stance aside, October Baby looks and feels like a Lifetime movie waiting not to happen. show more

    Kyle Smith New York Post

May be well-intentioned, but it's as obvious and inert as a spoonful of mashed potatoes. show more

There are few issues more bitterly divisive than abortion, with emotions and rhetoric running at fever pitch. October Baby is a faith-based movie that resides staunchly in the pro-life camp. Yet directors Andrew and Jon Erwin, who also contributed to the story, rarely let their film get didactic, instead going for a more low-key approach. show more

    Mike Scott New Orleans Times-Picayune

With a scattered, meandering script, a stable of throwaway characters and an almost laughably drawn-out ending, it's all amounts to standard movie-of-the-week fare dressed up in Sunday-go-to-meeting clothes. show more

    Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle

October Baby earns points for the originality of its protagonist but it has no chance of preaching to anyone but the choir. show more

    Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times

A film whose poignancy is hard to deny whatever side of the abortion debate you fall on. show more

This move was both educational and entertaining. Involves this deeply emotional issue of our time. Gently conveys the difficult dilemna presented to women and society. Definitely PRO-Life. Great life lessons for teenagers both boys and girls ! Highlights the need for forgiveness.

I have seen this movie twice. It was an excellent movie that touches many people’s lives. It illustrated how forgiveness sets you free. My only complaint is that it only played at our local theater at a time when many could not attend. Why is it that we cannot treat beautiful movies that have no sex, violence, and foul language with the same respect as the garbage that comes out of Hollywood is treate

This movie is a \"BLESSING\"! I wish everyone could see this film. It isfilled with so many wonderful messages of God\'s love and mercy - of His forgiveness and unconditional love for all His children. Each character is each of us - if we allow Christ to work within us - to become love for others, to be forgiving, hopefilled ,children of such a loving Father. Share this movie with all those that you love and those who need to be loved.
