I like Longoria Parker on "Desperate Housewives" and truly believe she could have a career on the big screen if she promises to never again work with writer-director Jeff Lowell, who perpetrated this offense of a ghost comedy on her and on her otherwise gifted co-stars Paul Rudd and Lake Bell. show more

Seriously lacks both romance and comedy. show more

Though the tale may fall short on imagination, the principal actors make Over Her Dead Body livelier than one would expect. show more

The kindest context in which to put Over Her Dead Body, which was written and directed by Jeff Lowell, is that of a training film, a public display of people trying to master their craft. The best way to see it is not at all. show more

What ensues may be predictable, but the slapstick performances of Rudd and Bell are anything but. They court, they spark, and a few times they catch comic fire. show more

Rudd is an underappreciated comic actor, and his line readings are the best thing in the film, but the bland role barely taps his talent. Amid the rest of the cast's one-note posing, his scenes with a parrot have a spontaneity and wit otherwise in short supply. show more

This madcap paranormal love triangle is charming on its own terms. show more

Consider for a moment how this movie might play if it took itself seriously. Would it be better than as a comedy? I suspect so. show more

The slapstick is crudely executed. And the movie never makes up its mind regarding how nasty the ghost of Kate is going to play her revenge tactics. show more

I thought this would be a light hearted comedy. Since I am a comedy fan I was anxious to see it. The movie insulted my intelligence. The "assistant" role was annoying that anyone would dare think he was funny. The lady who played the psychic was beautiful - - until she was in a scene with Eva then she looked frumpy. Eva played her part as an extention of Desperate Housewives but she was good - as good as she could be with the role she had. The guy just didn't fit the part or the role. Normally I don't agree with professional critics. I think they do not relate to what the normal viewing audience likes but this time I think they were too generous. Teenagers will probably like this movie but us "older" folks need to go see something else and wait until the video and a rainy afternoon.

Funny movie, but not as snappy and quick as the movie, "Enchanted" (I would give "Enchanted" 5 out of 5 stars)...but "Over Her Dead Body" still worthwhile and enjoyable. I liked this movie and recommend it.

I would rate this movie as more of a chick flick, but as a guy, I still enjoyed it. Very funny movie, and I thought Eva was very funny. I laughed alot.

I recommend this movie. I went with my boyfriend, and we BOTH LAUGHED ALOT. We BOTH enjoyed it. Eva Longoria is really great as an Evil Jealous Ghost, and I felt she stole the whole movie. GO C IT.

My sister-in-law and I loved this movie. Maybe it wasn't Oscar worthy but the critics were way too harsh. I guess that's their job though. I fell in love with the main characters and the story was very compelling. It was filled with laughs but it also had some sentimental parts too. I felt like clapping at the end because I enjoyed it so much. I can't wait until the DVD comes out so I can buy it.
