I fully expect Paranormal Activity 3 to be box office gold. But it's barely worth two stars, let alone two cents. As for future followups, I offer this plea: STOP! show more

Paranormal Activity 3 delivers similarly eerie moments, though long stretches go by where nothing truly ominous occurs. show more

A few really weird things happen during Paranormal Activity 3, though unfortunately, they have nothing to do with being frightened. show more

Although not exactly breaking any new ground with its by now all too familiar found-footage format, Paranormal Activity 3 hews to the formula in expertly crafted fashion, mustering up the requisite scares and then some. show more

Where Paranormal Activity 3's weak points show are in the unbelievable silliness of its characters. show more

The films are not works of genius. They are, however, wily reminders of the virtues of restraint when you're out for a scare. show more

    Ty Burr Boston Globe

Co-directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman cut their teeth on 2010's glib social-media mystery "Catfish,'' and since they're clever boys, they make the most of the series' new toy. Otherwise, Paranormal Activity 3 is almost identical to, and just as eerily effective as, the first two films in its alternation of cheesy "boo!'' tactics and genuine scares. show more

The scares (if you want to call them that) are still there - one "boo!" moment after another, strung together like a breadcrumb trail through a labyrinth. So if that's all you want from a Halloween release like Paranormal Activity 3, you are the perfect audience member. show more

The first 45 minutes of this film feel like far too much normal and not nearly enough para. show more

This Paranormal doesn't tamper with the formula that worked in the first two films. It lacks the "money" moments that those films delivered and ends with a finale that is downright conventional. "Paranormal" reveals itself for what it has become, the "Saw" of found video thrillers. show more

Well for the most part this was not a movie i\'d rate even close to high. The first one had me creeped out until it got stupid. I laughed hysterically through the second one and we all mocked the lines and characters. TERRIBLE acting. This one was the best of the 3. Had some thrill factor to it. I wouldn\'t recommend it unless you were a fan of the others. Then it\'s worth it to see. I just feel cheated with the endings of these types of movies. It\'s as if they ran out of ideas and asked their cartoon watching (not at all into scary movies) neighbor to *********. The acting was decent. Good set and lighting if you\'re into that. I know this doesnt give much of a premise of the story but I hope it helps with your decision to watch or not.

Saw it in the theatre and was a little disappointed. The story was a little predictable and there wasn\'t enough freaky things happening.

HORRIBLE! I loved the first and second movies so I was super excited when I heard a third was coming out. It was so terrible that I\'m pissed at myself for sitting through it. Nothing scary happened. You just sit there waiting and waiting for something scary to happen and it never does. Worst movie I\'ve ever gone to see in a theater.

I have never been so disappointed in a movie in my entire life! (And I\'ve watched a LOT of movies!!!) There WERE some scary/jump out at you parts....IN THE COMMERCIALS! They weren\'t even IN THE MOVIE! The movie was EXTREMELY predictable except for how it ended and it ended in a stupid way! I was not the only person requesting (and receiving) passes to another movie because of it being such a waste of time and money. The theater had evidently had a LOT of complaints so they had passes ready in hand to give people the second they requested them. The only 2 good parts of the movie were the commercials and the fact that I now get to go see a GOOD movie for free in it\'s place!

Poor horror movie. If you watched the 1st and 2ND part, you will get boring with this one. The start is acceptable but the outcome is a total stupid adaptation than shows like if the director had lost his focus. I recommend better wait for watching this movie in dvd from the red box, so you won\'t waist your money in the cinema.
