    Claudia Puig USA Today

Grier plays the part of the pompous patrician with superb finesse and dry wit, easily the movie's highlight. show more

    Steven Rea Philadelphia Inquirer

A likable if not exactly groundbreaking comedy. show more

Director Tina Gordon Chism, who also wrote the screenplay, seems to have relied pretty strongly on Perry for guidance. In particular, she rejects any notions of subtlety, either in the comedy or the weirdly heavy-handed messages about masculinity. show more

    Sheri Linden The Hollywood Reporter

The film’s first half is a slog as Chism sets up the minefield for Wade, with every (fully visible) mine certain to explode. show more

Chism's cast is game for her shenanigans, and the biggest pleasure of "Peeples" is watching them cut loose under her direction. This movie has one hell of a cast. show more

    Bill Zwecker Chicago Sun-Times

While Peeples follows a very predictable course as a romantic comedy and does not break any ground in that genre of filmmaking, this movie is more engaging than you might expect. show more

    Peter Keough Boston Globe

Despite the derivativeness, Chism shows talent and shrewd instincts in the timing and direction of the comedy — she handles the requisite dinner table disaster scene with aplomb. show more

    Roger Moore Movie Nation

The laughs follow an overly familiar path, but it’s great to see Grier, one of the bright lights of the seminal TV sketch comedy “In Living Color,” button down this judge and find ways to break formula and make him hilarious. show more

    Kyle Smith New York Post

Chism’s characters are pleasingly odd, and though she can’t string much of a narrative together — there is a stop-and-start quality to the picture that grows tiresome — a few of the set pieces are funny. show more

This is one of the worst movies i have ever seen. The poor guy gets crapped on time and time again and doesn\'t have the balls to tell everyone to just shove it! If you are a guy, DO ********* THIS MOVIE!
