Understand---The heroine Anne Eliot is older than her other heroines...late 20s. This is the middleaged Jane Austen's last complete book. This time,... Anne is considered the future old maid...in a time when if you didn't get married by 20, people might wonder that you'd never get married. (She's late 20s) First Anne was persuaded to reject her love - the young and poor sailor Wentworth...some years back. Now he has returned to her social circle...and Anne ********** as younger women fuss over the handsome (and now RICH) Captain Wentworth. It's a subtle romance. Definitely a quality Austen adaptation. Is not a fast paced film...but good if you like intricate romances! Has been highly rated by some Austen fans as a quality adaptation of the book "persuasion". Full Review
