Kendrick is terrific, taking a role that could have slid by on snide and building it into something uniquely funny and touching. show more

Any movie that features a character calling herself Fat Amy has a pretty firm grip on irony. It helps that Fat Amy is played by Rebel Wilson ("Bachelorette," "Bridesmaids"), my favorite eccentric Aussie practitioner of lip-curled comic timing. show more

The spirited a cappella singing in Pitch Perfect makes a predictable, feather-light coming-of-age film irresistibly fun. show more

    Carrie Rickey Philadelphia Inquirer

I smiled for the first half of the movie and started laughing hysterically when a supporting character hijacked it from its stars. show more

How you respond to Pitch Perfect will depend primarily on how you feel about its obvious inspirations: "Glee," "Bring It On" and the food-poisoning scene from "Bridesmaids." show more

Pitch Perfect is an enjoyably snarky campus romp that's both wildly nerdy and somewhat sexy. show more

One of the finest sequences is a "riff-off" between the boys and the girls, a West Side Story-style showdown that plays out with shards of songs instead of switchblades. show more

    Kyle Smith New York Post

Bouncy vocal rearrangements of pop songs, sparkling choreography and a hilarious script make for a movie that's made to be obsessed over, seen 50 times, quoted as devoutly as such sacred texts as "Heathers" and "Bring It On." show more

It\'s a nice rental movie. The love between Jesse and Beca was sort of rushed and kind of weird, and there weren\'t much of any emotional moments. If they had fleshed out Aubrey\'s character more and made her able to be related to, I think I would have enjoyed watching this more.

It was alright, certainly worth a rental. Any movie with singing in it isn\'t usually my cup of tea. There was all reruns on tonight so I figured I\'d ************* it is the only newer movie I haven\'t seen yet. It was entertaining at least.
