I live in the Jefferson City, Missouri and there seems to be an ongoing problem with Black Movies being shown here, I would love to see the movie without traveling to St Louis which is over an hour drive away.

Honestly, A movie about "another" black individual who's life struggle, blah, blah, blah..... Oh boy, I think we;re all a little fed up with another parody about how life is unusually difficult for blacks. Life is difficult for everyone. I sympathise, but lets call it how it is..... On another note, a movie about a 400lb. unatractive female, dubbed..."precious"...the title is terrible, even for a ironic point of view.

It is time to expose the type of abuse that is reflected in the novel Push by Sapphire as depicted in it's spin off movie Precious. I attended the movie and I thought it was about time the truth is revealed about abuse that families, friends, and everyone who has a hint of, or the culprits that are guilty of performing the abuse never tell or just hide it away in shame. Does it happen, you better believe it does. I think that when we expose such; discuss it and let so many abuse folks know that they are not along and that we society are not going to sit by and ignore it, then the healing process will begin and that eventually abuse will start to subside. Go and see the movie and face up to reality.

Some of the most judgmental and cruel uncaring people I know go to Church every morning and always on Sundays. I know many people who are agnostic or do not believe in God at all ...and they are the some of the kindest people I know . What counts is what character you have toward all creatures and this character is something inside you .

I am on my way to see this movie. I have to drive over 65 miles to see it. I've been reading some of the reviews. And I work in a residential treatment facility for youth ages 8yrs - 21yrs. And I can't understand those of you who are so blinded by the lily white flowers all over your world that you are offended by this movie But I work with boys and girls who are Precious first hand. They are growing up to be just like the Monique character. I get abruised by these kids and sent home crying almost everyday. They have become the abruisers. And some of them are there because they were abrusive towards their parents. So, which came first the chicken or the egg? The point is we are all responsible. We have gone away from our foundation. One nation under GOD Most High. Yes, I mean Jesus. We have no fear "reverence" of GOD. So, our children are neglected resulting in the state snatching them from our homes, destroying even more the sanctity of family. And because we have no GOD we are unhealed and take it out on our children further deteriorating the unity of the family. So, don't get offended at the cussing in the movie and the realism. Be offended at the fact that we live without GOD.

I read reviews that indicated to me that this movie was really great. The users on the reviews I read gave it five stars. I went to see it. I know that it is important for all of us to know the misery that others in life but this movie was simply too much of that. No hope. No resolution. More of the same depressing life to follow. Myself, my family and at least three other rows of strangers sat in miserable silence when the movie ended. I do not recommend this movie. No hope. No hope of hope. Read the synopsis and educate yourself on the plight of Precious and women like her. Do not go to the movie.

This is a must see movie, it is very very moving. I do not recommend parents to allow children to see this movie. Great job to all the cast and Monique deserves an Oscar Award for her part in this movie. Great job Monique.
