a great cop movie......good acting throughout.....a definite see ....the only problem with the movie is it gets "too real" sometimes.....

More melodrama than real life police work. The conflicts between characters are realistic, up to a point, but their outcomes are not. Quite a few plot holes, exposition tardy too. IMO, it needs to be about twenty minutes shorter or less frenetically paced.

If you enjoy intense police dramas, this one should keep you entertained. Otherwise, skip it.

Pride and Glory is a great gritty morality play and New York City cop drama, whose style is modern-day Film Noir. Although its set in a police corruption scandal, the real story is told as we watch the lead characters struggle with moral ambiguity. They are sworn to “Protect and Serve,” but who are they serving and protecting-- the public or themselves? The story is engrossing and the way it is told is riveting. Long after you leave the theatre, it stays with you. I know I will see it again. The ensemble cast is powerful-- they ARE the characters. If there is any justice in the world-- Edward Norton, Colin Farrell, John Voight and Jennifer Ehle will be nominated for Oscars, as well as the Director, Gavin O’Connor and the Cinematographer, Declan Quinn.

Ed Norton and Colin Farrell are the best thing I can say about Pride and Glory. I was entertained but it won't be on my Top 10 films of the year list.

Forgot rating! 3 stars for star power. Directing could have been better and by the way watch the trailer, it shows a car exploding on top of a parking garage.(Spoiler Alert) However in film there is no explosion only someone offing thereself in that scene!
