  • High on fun but low on depth, Project Almanac is told entirely from the perspective of a video camera, which instantly made me regret that I had eaten dinner before the screening. show more

  • The premise, which initially has a certain interior logic, grows implausible and then nonsensical. show more

  • Every generation gets the time travel it deserves. Project Almanac isn’t “Time After Time” (1979) or “Back to the Future” (1985) or “12 Monkeys” (1996), but the new release does turn out to be a surprisingly jaunty trip for jaded Gen-Y kids. show more

The characters were entertaining, but the movie was just too far-fetched, especially in the fact that someone was taping it in all the underlying chaos. Time to put the found-footage genre away.

I suppose younger folks may enjoy it, but I couldn't follow it very well and the photography style drove me nuts. The whole movie was being video taped by the main character's the camera jiggled all the way through the movie because she evidently didn't have a tripod. Ugh. Couldn't recommend this one. Sorry. :(
