What a terrific movie! We were intrigued by the trailer and poster, so we were pleased to get passes to the premier in Charlotte Tuesday night. The... film is a real crowd pleaser and very inspiring. It should be well received by all sorts of audiences, not just "acing fans in the same vein that ROCKY was not just for boxing fans. We agree with the reviews: this is the best documentary of the year by far, as well as the best family film and the best overall movie in theaters! Full Review

Slick without feeling over-determined, Racing Dreams evokes -- just as, oddly enough, "Toy Story 3" does -- the more general feeling of childhood on the precipice.Full Review
No less than for the black inner-city teens of "Hoop Dreams," cash is the name of the game in Curry's fascinating doc, even as the kids' motivation remains a pure love of the sport.Full Review
The film doesn't always follow up on its more interesting issues: safety, technique, financial hardship, even the sport's history. But the emotional dynamics of its trio of formative hopefuls, and their touching relationships with the parents or guardians who work hard at enabling their passion, set a solid pace.Full Review
The perceptively balanced "Dreams" transitions seamlessly from domestic drama to 70-mph heats.Full Review
