Plot

Japanese singing phenomenon Eikichi Yazawa is the subject of this oddly uninformative musical documentary that focuses solely on the singer's performances and popular songs without providing a larger context or history. Yazawa was a top money-maker in Japan at the end of the '70s when he was just approaching thirty. His energetic style comes across clearly which may be all that the target audience -- his fans -- want from this documentary. Nearly twenty years later at the end of the '90s, Yazawa was still going strong.
