I liked it. A beautiful movie visually, and with a fleshed out plot from the fairy take. Amanda Seyfried is beautiful, Gary Oldman is appropriately sinister, and the atmosphere of the movie is appropriately mysterious and creepy. Julie Christie looks great too. Not a mastepiece, but a helluva lot better than the critical reviews. See it yourself and make up your own mind.
Some of the story seemed cliche, but otherwise an amazing movie! This is one of the very few movies I can watch over and over from beginning to end and not be completely bored.
I thought this was the greatest movie ever
Because the only thing missing from the story of Little Red Riding Hood was a d.o.u.c.h.e with a faux-hawk.
This movie was great. Doesn't take long b4 sht gets good.

Catherine Hardwicke's prettified movie is a strange adaptation because it supplants the woodsy horror of the original fairy tale with two new elements: a romantic triangle and a witch hunt. Full Review

A lurid, loopy, utterly ludicrous enterprise. Full Review

Gorgeously shot, smartly conceived, cleverly cast, badly executed - the lush medieval beauty here is at best only skin deep. Full Review

The best that can be said is that the production design is striking. Otherwise, it's a foolish story, marred by a strange blend of overacting and bland, offhand performances. Full Review

This tedious retelling of the venerable fairy tale-"Twilight" with Oedipal kinks-takes place in a medieval village that is plagued by a werewolf, and that looks like a shtetl settled by California actors. Full Review
