Even wild man Gary Oldman, as a priest ready to eighty-six the wolfman with silver nail polish, can't liven up this humorless hogwash. And it's just sad to see the legendary Julie Christie stuck playing the grandmother. show more

Catherine Hardwicke's prettified movie is a strange adaptation because it supplants the woodsy horror of the original fairy tale with two new elements: a romantic triangle and a witch hunt. show more

The best that can be said is that the production design is striking. Otherwise, it's a foolish story, marred by a strange blend of overacting and bland, offhand performances. show more

    Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal

This tedious retelling of the venerable fairy tale-"Twilight" with Oedipal kinks-takes place in a medieval village that is plagued by a werewolf, and that looks like a shtetl settled by California actors. show more

Seyfried holds the camera's attention, playing this storybook business pretty much straight, although David Leslie Johnson's script puts the actress sorely to the test. show more

The amazingly awful dramatic thriller Red Riding Hood could, with tweaks, be enjoyably bad in a "Plan 9 From Outer Space" kind of way. Instead, it's M. Night Shyamalan-style bad, which means despite all the unintentional snickers, you feel trapped. show more

    Todd McCarthy The Hollywood Reporter

As it thuds along from one wolf attack to the next, Catherine Hardwicke's first film since taking leave of Bella and her toothy friends adamantly refuses to provide any wit, humor or fun. show more

Aside from a few arresting visuals, Red Riding Hood is just a slog through the woods. show more

Seyfried's a good actress, but all the art direction in the world can't make this version of events the stuff either of dreams or of nightmares. show more

At least the werewolves in Red Riding Hood have teeth and, when in human form, they don't parade around shirtless. show more

I liked it. A beautiful movie visually, and with a fleshed out plot from the fairy take. Amanda Seyfried is beautiful, Gary Oldman is appropriately sinister, and the atmosphere of the movie is appropriately mysterious and creepy. Julie Christie looks great too. Not a mastepiece, but a helluva lot better than the critical reviews. See it yourself and make up your own mind.

Some of the story seemed cliche, but otherwise an amazing movie! This is one of the very few movies I can watch over and over from beginning to end and not be completely bored.

Because the only thing missing from the story of Little Red Riding Hood was a d.o.u.c.h.e with a faux-hawk.

This movie wass a in the middle movie that didn\'t catch my attention as i thought it would have. But there were some good aspects of Little Red Riding Hood was that I love how the writers based it off of a younger kids story and gave it an adult spin to it. The movie did pick good actor\'s and plot. The ending surprised me alot cause in the story it has a happy ever after but in this movie it was an in between. In my opinion Little Red Ridding Hood was an okay movie but could have been better.
