HAVING WALKED INTO THE WRONG THEATER, WHEN I SAW THE OPENING CREDITS, I WAS NOT IN THE MOOD FOR WHAT I THOUGHT WOULD BE ANOTHER SANDLER STUPIDITY. IN A FEW MINUTES I WAS TOTALLY IMMERSED IN A BRILLIANT FILM, PORTRAYED CREDIBLY AND MOVINGLY BY SANDLER AND CHEADLE. A CAPTIVATING MOVIE DESPITE THE FLAW... INVOLVING THE GIRL AND THE RECURRING THEME, IT WAS UNNECESSARY AND DETRACTED FROM THE POWER OF THE FILM, TOO BAD AS THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN TOTALLY APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AUDIENCES, NOW ADULTS, RESPONSIBLE ONES, AT LEAST HAVE TO SQUIRM, OR IGNORE, OR EXPLAIN AWAY GRATUITOUS SEXUAL CONTENT FROM AN OTHERWISE CLASSY FILM.

While I was able to clean the kitchen during the middle of the movie without really missing much of the story line, I thought the performances by the actors were very well done. Though slow moving, the subect content of the movie required most of this time for the unfoldding an unraveling of character roles and their delivery..

The acting was superp. Adam Sandler has just proven to me he could be the only other person as good as Tom Hanks in character development and believability. You feel what he's going through. Don Cheadle was excellent and also believable as his character. This movie is about a real struggle and not necessarily with a resolution. A wonderful film. It should be seen.

My family and I saw this last week and we all loved it! Both Cheadle and Sandler were fantastic in their parts. It has both funny parts as well as sad and is an all around great film. I highly recommend it to everyone! (Not including children-there are strong sexual references) Both should be nominated for awards! I will buy this on DVD for sure..

Adam Sandler did an admirable job in his portrayal of a man who lost his family on 9/11. Don Cheadle did a great job, too,\nas his friend trying to be of help. Great character study. \nI think this is the best serious role Sandler has done.

I think it is the fact that the movie dealt with the long lasting emotional affects of 9/11 that made it worth watching for me. The character of Charlie delivered the sense of loss felt by those directly affected by the tragedy. At the same time the character Alan Johnson reminded us that we are all always putting things back together. I guess that is what I liked about it. It brought to mind an aspect of the human condition; of always putting Humpty Dumpty back together again. Well written, well acted and well filmed.

Wonderfully uplifting relationship between two men, that isn't sappy nor uncomfortable. You will reach deep down inside of yourself to figure out who is helping whom. Bring tissues.

This movie was amazing, and Adam Sandler was brilliant. There are many facets to this movie. First, we all relate because we've all felt grief. Next, the loss that Sandler's character has suffered is every person's worst nightmare. Finally, friendship and hope, and the fragile human spirit. I have no idea why the critics don't seem to get this- the movie is an experience and must be seen.

I was so surprised at the acting in this movie. I love Adam Sandler and he is a brilliant comedian but never real good at the serious stuff, well let me tell you he is brilliant and deserves the nomination for this movie. It was touching and had me from the opening credits. It is a great story or real life and what a person can go through when they lose everything. Bravo I will be running out to buy this movie on DVD.
