Kappy7809 I didn't waste my time seeing this piece of junk, its whole story line is an insult to humanity & God. really, could you be any more retarded? this is a page for people to post who actually have something useful to say about the movie. once you've actually seen it, we might take your opinion seriously. this is exactly like the morons you talk to who say stuff like "i hate sushi" when they've never even tried it. until you have, you dont have any idea what you're talking about and you cant say the whole thing is an insult to humanity and god because in all honesty, you have no idea what it actually is.

This movie was great, it proved how gullible and naive most religious people are. You believe in something that has no fact behind it, it's made up story, written by man thousands of years ago. It has been proven that man is corrupt, no matter what religion, I'd say Christians are more corrupt than most. Christians rate this movie 1 star, when they haven't even seen it, that's a lie right there, isn't that a "sin"? Christianity is in a downward spiral in the U.S., in 30 years Christians will be the minority...RAmen.

A knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate, of the manifestations of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty - it is this knowledge and this emotion that constitute the truly religious attitude; in this sense, and in this alone, I am a deeply religious man. (Albert Einstein) The sentiments of Einstein's words were never addressed in Maher's film. He focused only on the destructive nature of dualistic fall-redemption theologies, and infantile ideas of God. The film had it's humorous and clarifying moments, but it was very one dimensional in scope. In fact, when pointing out the Founding Father's disdain of Christianity he failed to point out that the Founding Fathers were Deists, a fairly contemporary tradition in which the metaphorical word of God is not limited to scripture, but is found in nature, math, philosophy literature, art, etc. There is nothing inherently destructive in attaching to the abstract...in fact it is often what offers deeper meaning. Where the human condition goes awry with latching onto ideologies that promulgate hatred, would have been a more interesting perspective, than the suggestion that the pursuit of Spirit unto itself is inherently evil.

I am Christian and I saw the movie. I left loving God even more. I believe I defeated the devil again! This movie was dry. I laughed when the guy thought his hair was on fire. That was pretty funny, that was the only time I did laugh though. In fact, I think that this was the dumbest movie I have ever seen.

I loved this movie, and to those who say Bill berates those who disagree with him. Is that not exactly what YOU are doing. He only asks provocative questions in this movie. Each of us can choose to take from it what we want, and leave the rest. To adjudge someone as "going to hell" for seeing it, or even agreeing with it.,...should see the movie again and again till you get the point. That kind of judgement is not yours.

Maher points out what is going on in the world...any religion which teaches that it is required to kill anyone who doesn't practice as they do is a threat to us all...this is not about spiritual acceptance of us all in the way we each practice individually...his comments at the end at Meggido say it all. The Crusades are not over....and the weapons are lethal

Most of the humor comes from Bill Maher interviewing people who behave like sheep under the influence of a mass psychosis. It's easy for him to score off of such fools so very little of substance is revealed. In the end, Maher shows himself to be just as arrogant as the religions he's criticising so effectively. Still, the movie is unique and well worth seeing. Maher's well honed sense of humor redeems this movie from being a big yawn.
