Found this movie exhausting, a bit draggy and at most boring. I guess that was the intended effect the director wanted for the audience to feel- like how the characters are feeling. In that regard, that will be a directorial success. But hey, I'm still feeling the discomfort- add to this the very tired theme about suburban boredom and philandering. This movie could have been a boring subplot if there will be a "Desperate Housewives - the Movie"!

What made this film for me was the mentally ill man that had a cathartic verbal rant and was the only one seeing the truth. I thought is was HILARIOUS. Kate and Leonardo were great in this but I am sorry......envelope please, the Oscar goes to the mentally ill man. What is his name anyway??

With two of our most powerful actors on screen, and an excellent director at the helm, I expected so much more. And it COULD have been, just too much was glossed over, I understood their anguish, but it never got to the heart of why some people in their lives feel they have no options. Acting was of course outstanding, but the lack of depth left one feeling why bother.....somehow I still feel the need to recommend it, but my dissapointment was great in this film.

The acting made this movie. The direction was great as well but without Leo and Kate together, it would have been something completely different. Both performances were the most convincing I've ever seen, especially considering the storyline was so basic. You can truly feel the characters every emotion and deeply sympathize. Leo was absolutely AMAZING. Kate's emotional last scene was also incredible. It may hit too close to home for some people and really make you think about your own life and ideas of happiness. As disturbing and heart-wrenching as it was to watch, it was one of the best films of 2008.

For those of you who want to see Jack and Rose reunite in a romanctic love-story, this isn't it! I can't believe that people didn't find this film anything but BRILLIANT. I am also a huge Titanic fan as well as a fan of both Leo and Kate, but I knew the background story of this film. Yes, it is extremely dark and depicts the hopelessness when dreams are shattered, but is truly an insight to the human psyche and how things can affect our view of what happiness is. The acting of both DiCaprio and Winslet is phenomenal; i can't remember the last time an actor/actress duo’s performance was this convincing, and at the same time, this heart-wrenching. I definitely recommend everyone to GO SEE THIS FILM! It will give you a different view on what fulfillment means and where it comes from.

This movie is such a downer. I prefer funny or action movies to this kind of depressing stuff. The acting is great, but who needs to get more depressed in this economy? I need to laugh and be entertained.

If you like watching dysfunctional married couples do rotten things to each other, with horrible consequences, then this movie's for you! That's entertainment? No thanks! The MPAA ratings board should start adding a "quality" rating to the films they rate. Then people like me, who like to be entertained at a movie, can avoid parting with their ticket money just to be disgusted.
