An alternately kick-ass and clumsy piece of sci-fi claptrap that puts its empty head down and gets the job done. show more

    Peter Hartlaub San Francisco Chronicle

The result isn't a great film, but it's true to the original brutal vision. show more

Move along, there's nothing to see and no one to root for in this murky franchise reboot. show more

    David Hiltbrand Philadelphia Inquirer

Purely as an action film, Riddick is passable, if grueling. The problem is tonal. show more

Joe Neumaier New York Daily News

The story feels like quicksand. Riddick, which couldn’t even qualify for proper summer movie placement, moves like Martian molasses and can’t present an action scene to save its life. You’ll wish you had Uncle Martin’s ability to speed people — not to mention awful movies — up. show more

    Justin Lowe The Hollywood Reporter

Playing it safe with a script that offers Riddick up as a lone avenging hero, Twohy passes on the opportunity to effectively shade the character’s distinctive dimensionality. show more

Riddick is a fractured skeleton of a script, with each distinct installment scratching its own itch. show more

    Bruce Ingram Chicago Sun-Times

It’s nothing new for sure, but writer/director David Twohy...throws in enough entertaining touches to maintain interest — despite an overlong two-hour running time. show more

It's fun! Extremely violent, cleverly managed fun, full of eviscerating aliens. show more

    Riddick isn't perfect but it's a good high-octane sci-fi tinged action/thriller. show more

Fan of Pitch Black and Vin Diesel\'s sexiness. Riddick was surprisingly good. Very entertaining from beginning to end. I felt that there were a few confusing story points, but otherwise, it was well crafted and not over animated. Supporting actors were a great compliment to Riddick. Worth seeing.

First time seeing a Riddick theme thought it was a very good sifi, and traditional super character. Entertaining.

Extremely boring. The plot, action, everything, the movie was horrible and moved extremely slow.

Very disappointing. The coming attractions were the best this movie had to offer. Vin Diesel did a nice acting job, but the storyline wasn\'t worth the cost of the ticket and popcorn. Wait to see it on Netflix.

Great action movie. Definitely better acting and story than the first 2. and it kept you on the edge of your seat with non-stop heart pounding action. This movie seemed to take us back to the roots of Riddick... to his \"animal side\" and it leaves off for a another Riddick to be made after this one.
