This was a mediocre movie trying to be extraordinary. I read the reviews and was primed but it fell short. It's one of those movies where you keep... waiting for something to happen but it never does. It wasn't even as clever as the reviews said. Nothing came of the escaped convict although that all teh movie should have been about. Nothing interesting happens until the very last minute but by then you don't care. The main character was not appealing or belieabvle in the role. The plot is forced and improbable like if they're insisting "I'm witty and clever, damit! " It's got all the hallmarks of the classic French films - overlingering on the actor's face - that appeals to psudointellectuals. I'm a sucker for foreign films but this was just not very good. It's the forgettable type of movie you appreciate when you're on a month-long business trip and have nothing else to see. It is the French version of Magnolia or Vanila Sky. A show case for local artists that sell ltickets to other locals based solely on the draw of their names. Don't bother. Full Review
I thought that this movie was fanastic. It had everything in it. Another fantastic foreign film.
Ho hum - another movie about writers. Also, the movie went to far the last 15 minutes.

A brilliant piece of construction, and talking too much about its specifics would only spoil the overall experience.Full Review
Like nearly any thriller, no matter how intelligently and tightly plotted, it is possible to poke holes in its fabric. But, as it's unspooling in the theater, it makes for a wonderful movie house experience. Here's a sleeper worth a few extra miles' travel to see.Full Review
A sly catalog of deceits and a gentle commentary on slippery creativity and desire.Full Review
