Well made bio of an artist who just missed making it big time with her paintings. Performances are excellent - superb in the lead female role of Seraphine. Probing personality depiction of Seraphine.

ONE OF THE MOST STUNNYING PERFORMACES EVER! BRAVO YOLANDA! A compelling drama on real life events that will be a memorable movie for the longest while but it is for distinguishing taste. This is really more like a film, fine art; and, it is very mature.

The mystery of Sraphine de Senlis -- who died in a mental hospital in 1942 and whose work survives in some of the world's leading museums -- is left intact at the end of Sraphine. Rather than trying to explain Sraphine, the film accepts her. Full Review
