The movie was Okay....however, couldn't believe it received the BEST picture of the year. If I were a teacher grading this movie, I would give it, at best, a C+.

The movie was EXCELLENT--tru portrayal of what life is like there for youth and caste that still esist. You're born in the slum, you will fie in the slum is the attitude--the world's richest men, some Indian, won't and can't help--caste divides still--THIS MOVIE SHOED THAT DESPITE NEVER BEING IN A SCHOOL 1 DAY, he prevailed--had a heart and knew love and determination depite what "is written"--maybe you should take the kids to show them the good life that they have here, despite hanging on the corners, clubbing, and making excuse after excuse--that they really do have MORE than a lot out there---

The most thouht provoking , wonderfuly acted and unusual film I've ever seen; I'm truly glad I went to see it and was very happy that it won the award. I just hope it doesn't hurt India's tourisim business. WM Florida

Just because someone doesn't like this movie does not mean they do not care about third world countries. I wonder if the proceeds of this movie are going to the starving children of this country, and there are other ways to care about this country like contributing money or clothes. Just because someone doesnt like someone seeing an eye burned out of a kids head does not make him or her a bad person.

CRM you are out of touch with how the other world lives...these things are just normal if you go to 3rd world countries ..While the american children enjoy going to school and playing high tech games let me assure you ...millions of kids are working on the streets just to have something to eat...they have no other choices...they only know one rule...survival. The movie should win the Oscars easily.....(if Oscar's committee decided to be honest with their votes).

CRM7464 ... please continue to live in your fantasy world of all things perfect in the way children worldwide are treated. Having lived in India myself, I personally am prepared to see this movie, if for no other reason to see that even in the worst conditions, courage prevails. Unlike you, I do not run from what is real, even though some of it may be painful to bear or see. Why don't you go watch something like 'Madagscar 2,' if that is all your tender stomach can take?! Leave the movies that show life as it REALLY is to us adults, OK?

i never did this before, incredible similarities between slumdog and honeymooners 64,000$ question episode. in honeymooners, ed norton plays a jingle (swanny river) as a prelude to any other song he plays as show prep for 64,000 music gameshow questions to ralph kramdon who is so tired of hearing that same jingle before every song he has to memorize... and guess what the answer to the honeymooners 64,000$ question was... thats right, swanny river... but ralph didnt get it correct although he heard the jingle a thousand times. In slumdog millionaire, the final question is about the 3 musketeers, a subject 2 of the 3 lead actors were studying in school as children. and the third lead actor is actually called the third musketeer as a nickname. howewver, in this senario, slumdog guesses the correct answer to that question. anyone else pick up on this ??? now i'd like to say that the movie was a fantastic love story with a couple of other plots intertwined in there.i rate it 5 stars..
