Co-written and -directed by filmmaking team Paolo Genovese and Luca Miniero (Neapolitan Spell), Sorry, You Can't Get Through is a lighthearted comedy about the transformative power of friendship. Walter (Carlo Delle Piane) is a lonely old man who is at a loss as to how to fill his days until he reads a newspaper story revealing that there is one worker for each retiree. Setting out to meet the one who works for him, Walter meets a shy young man named Piero and decides to help him come out of his shell. In a nod to Luis Buñuel's That Obscure Object Of Desire, two different actors assume the role of Piero: Pierfrancesco Favino plays the timid original, while Valerio Mastandrea handles the more outgoing version.
