I have been a hard core trekker since 1966 and aside from not keeping to trek history and the Uhura "face *******" which would never happen, I loved the movie! It did capture the spirit and adventure of traveling with the USS Enterprise and her crew. The actors were fantastic and really brought the characters back to life for me. The plot was good, if flawed, the action was fantastic and the humor was right on. You do not have to know anything about Star Trek to enjoy this movie. To the Trek franchise I say, Live long and prosper!

Indeed JJ Abrams has done an incredible thing, rebooted a francise in such a way that fans can enjoy even more Star Trek movies in the future. I have been a fan ever since I was 14 years old and have seen all the subsequent movies and spin offs. Abrams has opened an alternative reality door that allows us to enjoy the "spirit" of the originals and opening a "door" to new adventures or even revisiting some familiar places without being stuck to watching a predictable remake of the classic we may be familiar with! I absolutely loved the chemistry, humor and fresh look of the crew and the Enterprise and the clever and witty dialogue made me feel as though JJ really cared about what he was writing and did not insult my intelligence with obvious cartoony versions of the original crew. I recommend that everyone go see this film on the big screen and also invest in the upcoming DVDs! It is an exciting and smart film for any sci fi lover or simple fan of the tv series! Great job JJ Abrams!

I must say if I had *********** Star Trek over the years and read a few of the books I might have enjoyed this movie more. What surprised me was what I thought I would hate about the movie. It took me buying all into the idea time had been altered to enjoy the portrayals of young Kirk, Spock and the rest. But what sadly I did not like about the whole movie was the ***********. The bad guy was extremely weak and really the movie just moved from one action scene to the next. Given that yes was exciting yet I could not help just think after I saw the movie was that yes these actors played the parts well but they never became the parts. Was like watching a good impersonation of the original crew but nothing memorable. Besides one thought just nagged at me. This might be a spoiler so don't read past this point didn't Spock know how to travel back in time? Could he not once he met with Kirk go back and change everything back to the way it was? Seem to remember that in several episodes of the series as well as Start Trek IV. A good movie but when you think about it they just erased everything about Star Trek so they can make more movies with out doing any type of research. A little of a let down when you think about it.

This movie was a joke. A bunch of little boys running around pretending they are courages space travelers. Don't waste your money. Go see something better which includes any other movie out there.

Highly recommended in IMAX! The picture and sound quality make such a difference. I'm not a Trekkie, but I am now!! This movie is very smart, all actions scenes have a purpose and it's not just gratuitous action. From what I hear, they stay pretty true to the characters and take it to a whole new level. Very entertaining, even for the non Trek fan.

I would not go to this movie theater to see ANYTHING in IMAX. THEY'RE LIARS. IMAX at this location simply means a slightly bigger screen. Don't Fall for it! If you wanna read more: http://azizisbored.tumblr.com/pos- t/106587114/reblog-the-****-out-ofhis-warning-amc-theaters-are

I'm not a Trekkie, but enjoyed this movie a lot. It was easy to identify the characteres and the story flowed well. Didn't William Shatner have brown eyes tho?

I'd Like to say Bravo! Well done. This by far may be my favorite star Trek over to date. The lead actors are very believable as to the characters of the originals Kirk and Spock. It also put in a few Alternate seanarios to what could have. It doesn't stay true to the original story line of Star Trek but a GREAT What if this happen seanario. I do give it an A.
