Plot Summary
Dozens of television cameras provide a provocative expose of our fame-obsessed culture in "Stardom," a spicy and darkly humorous tale of a young model's meteoric rise. The result is a unique reflection of celebrity in which life imitates art, art imitates life, and the media imitates anything and everything. "Stardom" is about the power of beauty and more importantly, about the power of the media -- and its preoccupation with celebrity.

What makes it interesting is the story that the viewer must put together, of a model who lives her entire life -- or at least what we see of it -- in front of the camera. show more

Through a messy series of news reports, interviews, talk shows, and behind-the-scenes footage, Arcand creates a cinema vérité spoof that's not nearly as penetrating or enjoyable as he thinks. show more
