The whole movie was very entertaining and kept my attention the whole time. The ending however... very depressing and not worth seeing the whole movie for. The writers and directors should be ashamed of themselves.

I know -- its Stephen King so I know I can't expect a happy ending, but the end of this movie is just heartless. The scare factor was great without over the top gore, but the dialog was unnecessarily graphic at times which made it often uncomfortable. I read the book a long time ago, but I don't remember the ending being like that and although extremely shocking, it ruined the movie for me.

Despite the obvious, -4 bullets with 5 people, - the movie would have been far better if the ending wasn't so ridiculous. Seriously, the movie was great but the ending was tasteless, idiotic, a failed attempt to be different, drab and foolish. Stephen King always states that writers need to be true to their readers, but this ending was so overboard and phoney I wanted to shout in Annie Wilkes fashion, "they ruined the *****-doody movie!!!"

i watched it the other day and i must say it is a thinking movie from the very moment the lady asked for help to get her kids you are thrust in to makeing a discision helping her or saveing you own but its choices good or bad becouse you have to live with them, and it is about doing the best you can and still not working out good movie about man against as well as aginst him self

OK, it's a dark thriller and truly the very end is predictable but... the movie before this works well it keeps you wondering what is that noise out there and has some great performances by the cast that just pull it all together. This is not a movie for kids but very well done and keeps you on the edge of your seat just what is happening to that guy who is screaming out there and why the chills creep up your spine as you hear chewing mixed in the screams for help but can't see what is happening in the mist. Best performance I have ever seen for Thomas Jane who has truly proven himself with this role and the ever dependable Marcia Gay Harden is brilliant as expected. Laurie Holden is equal to the task of both the Jane and Harden in this movie and the cast is filled with great supporting performances that make this movie that much better. However the make up people should not have had the soldier walking around with penciled in eye brows they could have at least done a better job on that. The movie over all is 80 out of 100 for the way it makes you curious and keeps you on edge, Stand up and take a bow Frank Darabont you did it! Bravo!!!!

I am a big fan of Stephen King's books and movies they are very good. I really liked the mist, it kept me wondering what was going to happen in the book every chapter something new was happening. the movie was very good to there were a few changes between the book and the movie but other than those i would give it a 95

A great adaptation of the story with an ending that will punch you in the gut. Much better than the last horror flick I saw, 30 Days of Night!
