Stop-loss is another attempt by Hollywood to portray the returning soldier as a misfit, unable to return to civilian life similar to the trash that was produced during the Vietnam era. Although the Army does have a "Stop-loss" program, it was improperly represented to serve the producers/writers political agenda. I am recommending that all Vets boycott the show. Although the writers are more subtle than the Vietnam era writers is still only worth one star.

As a Vet myself, this movie shows the Emotional and Physical cost to each of our fighting men and women. Something that most politicians cannot relate to in the slightest. The movie exposes an unpopular side that each returning Vet experiences in a stop-loss situation. Unfortunately it doesn't show more in detail of the vet and family emotional and financial ruin the most all seriously wounded vets experience. Traumatic brain injury, post traumatic stress, homelessness and difficulty adjusting back into the civilian world. This is a brave and revealing movie. Let hope there are more quality films to come in the future.

Do not support this film, I was in the military 7 years,This is a voluntary army, people sign the dotted line of their own free will. Don't give me any crap about how they didn't know this or that. A contract/commitment is fully understood, if you break the contract you are a coward and your word is worthless. This film is nothing more than propaganda....Lies

I was not very excited to see Stop-Loss, but took a chance becuz of the cast. Well, I'm very glad I did, Ryan Phillipe did an excellent job, along w/Channing Tatum and all the cast, the movie was great, sad, heartfelt, intense, and emotional. See this movie you will not be disappointed.

Will we ever see a movie again that gives our country a little credit for all the good it does?

I thought the movie should have received a better initial rating. The stop-loss policy is something I was not aware of. My only criticism of the movie is how the cut he receives after discovering who broke into the car moves from over the right eye to the left eye ! Other than that, go see the movie.

I have many loved ones that have been to Iraq more then once. I thank good that they have not been stop lossed yet, seeing as the contract is not up yet. I have seen the troubles they go though first hand when they come home though and much like this movie pointed out, it is not a pretty sight. They have spent manny nights tossing and turning. This movie really opens a person eyes to what happens when our soilders come home. It is by far one of the most moving and powerfull movies I have seen in a long time. I honestly would see it over and over again if invited.

For anyone who does not have a loved one in the military, you would not be familiar with the contract that every soldier signs before entering any military branch, and therefore might actually believe this movie as fact. Whoever wrote this script obviously did not do any research because anyone who joins our military knowingly signs a contract that states that their contract is for 8 years, active or inactive, the inactive part meaning they can be recalled at any reason at any time during their contract. Stop loss is in the contract that every soldier signs. It is not a secret and not a breach of contract, like Ryan Phillippe's character claims. This is an incredibly poor movie. Don't see it.

Stop/Loss is an amazing movie which really opens your eyes to what is really happening to our wonderful men and women servicing this great country. The cast is immpecable with Ryan Phillippe once again showing an oscar winning performace. He is truly a gifted actor.
