As a Vet myself, this movie shows the Emotional and Physical cost to each of our fighting men and women. Something that most politicians cannot relate to in the slightest. The movie exposes an unpopular side that each returning Vet experiences in a stop-loss situation. Unfortunately it doesn't show more in detail of the vet and family emotional and financial ruin the most all seriously wounded vets experience. Traumatic brain injury, post traumatic stress, homelessness and difficulty adjusting back into the civilian world. This is a brave and revealing movie. Let hope there are more quality films to come in the future.

I was looking on this sight to determine whether or not I would like to see this movie when I read a few disturbing comments. I would like to now explain some of the issues I am seeing. The first issue is that none of you understand what "stop-loss" is; it is a Military regulation that allows the Government to cease slodiers from ETS-ing (from getting OUT of the military). When they bring a IRR soldier back into the military it is known as a mobilization muster or simply recall. The second issue I noticed is the lack of sympathy for the soldiers that are being called back. I would like to first note that any person that has served in the military has a right and valued opinion to whether it is or is not cowardly to go AWOL rather than to go back into the military; you have earned the right to judge. If you have not served in the military and you feel it is cowardly, or if you actually think that an 18 year old kid understands the intricate and ambiguous military contract, join up yourself! I would say that you who are so quick to judge cowardice are too much of a coward to even imagine serving your country, so don't pass judgement on something you don't understand. That is really all I have to say, but I would like to see this movie now that it has caused so much of a stir.

Another anti-war box office bomb! If you must see it, wait for it to hit your video store, than at least the movie (and the popcorn) won't be too expensive!

I really dont understand any of you because this movie was really interesting to me. I mean seriously are any of you out there fighting this thing im guessing not if you're here typing a review for some movie. So basically neither of you have any clue what is goin on over there and I have a lot of family and friends fighting in this war. We need to support our soildiers to the fullest. Half the stuff they see you will never have to encounter. So i think its real stupid that our soildiers are being stop lossed if they have served their contract thats all that needs to be done.

Stop-loss is another attempt by Hollywood to portray the returning soldier as a misfit, unable to return to civilian life similar to the trash that was produced during the Vietnam era. Although the Army does have a "Stop-loss" program, it was improperly represented to serve the producers/writers political agenda. I am recommending that all Vets boycott the show. Although the writers are more subtle than the Vietnam era writers is still only worth one star.

Saw this movie the other night....great cast... excellent film!!The "Stop-Loss" program is indeed a reality in the military, they can call you back when needed. It does exist, as explained at the end of the film. Apparently many military personnel have been "victims" of this program. But....as one person already pointed out, when you sign on the dotted line...read the fine print!!!I also noticed the "facial cut above Ryan's eye" moving from one side of face to the other....hmmm.Other than that, excellent film!!! WELL ACTED!!!

If your anti war...your most likely going to like this movie. If your pro war...your most likely going to hate this movie. Unless both of the parties go in thinking it is just a movie made for entertaining. Because on either side there are MANY holes in this movies "facts". I just think its funny when pro war people go see obvious blatent anti war films then explode in a "i'm so offended" frenzy about what they saw later.

This dose nothing to support our real troops Who Bravely fight for our freedom. It is with disgrace that this movie has even been funded. In reality we dont need a bunch of cry babys who think freedom is worth less than their life. I'm trying to get to the point that those who have no freedom would sacrifice anything or anyone to obtain it. Thank God our Founding Fathers, and those who followed them including George Bush were as intelligent and brave as they come.FISH

I have many loved ones that have been to Iraq more then once. I thank good that they have not been stop lossed yet, seeing as the contract is not up yet. I have seen the troubles they go though first hand when they come home though and much like this movie pointed out, it is not a pretty sight. They have spent manny nights tossing and turning. This movie really opens a person eyes to what happens when our soilders come home. It is by far one of the most moving and powerfull movies I have seen in a long time. I honestly would see it over and over again if invited.

A movie that leaves you with alot of questions and a very sad heart. Would love to buy Mr. President a bucket of popcorn, a pop and a movie ticket to see this movie...if he can leave the theater with out a ache in his gut or a tear in his eye, I will treat him to dinner...Got Bless our Soldiers...
