I read some other reviews and was struck with the reviewers trying to take an obviously fictional story into the realm of a reality documentary. Keanu did a great job of being a believable character who although streetwise is fooled by his "friends". We did see what was happening so we could follow it. But it was great seeing how the character arrived at the truth. And the ending was something that was unexpected. Keanu is getting better as he ages. The other actors did a great job with their characters. If your looking for reality watch the news.

Street Kings starts with a scenario that should give anyone who truly believes in due process of law a serious nightmare. One the other hand it might just excite fans of the old Death Wish movies. Read my full review at johnhuntspace.com/streetkings.html

Keanu proves all you nay sayers wrong. He portrays the bad guy cop better then Denzel in Training Day. The up and down adreneline rush of Keanu's role is the best seen this year. Everyone in the movie is amazing GREAT WORK

It has been eons since we've been to a movie as action packed as "Street Kings" - Reeves did a great job in the lead role...kept me on the edge of my seat - - - it is a MUST see.

After months of mediocre movies, finally here's something worth watching. Street Kings is a classic thriller. Keanu Reeves gives a solid performance as Tom Ludlow, a flawed cop who is one of the LAPD's most formidable gun fighters. Ludlow must untangle a web of corruption in order to clear his name of scandal and discover who murdered his partner. At 43, Reeves finally has enough years on his face to be taken seriously as more than just a pretty boy, and is starting to be reminiscent of the wonderful Chris Cooper.Hugh Laurie is great as an inspector of internal affairs you will love to hate, although by film's end he will have earned your grudging respect. Also impressive is Laurie's very un-Hollywood decision to leave his emerging bald spot un-camouflaged for all to see.Recent Oscar-winner Forrest Whitaker is brilliant as usual - I won't say anything more about his performance because I don't want to give anything away. The film serves up plenty of gratuitous violence, but there is a smart plot (thanks to best-selling crime novelist James Ellroy) to prop it up and the surprise ending packs a punch. I'd forgotten how much fun dirty cop films could be. Street Kings is a welcome reminder.

I read the reviews, and despite them, i went and saw Street Kings. I was pleasantly surprised on many levels. First the casting was perfect, even Reeves, who always plays a guy who doesn't quite have things figured out. His acting is Speed level, which is low - but not so poor that it gets in the way of the movie. All the other roles are spot on, with lots of familiar faces. The plot is completely unpredictable, in a good way. The movie is full of intrigue, action, and keeps the entire audience on their toes. I saw it in a packed theatre and the crowd was fully engaged from start to finish. The so-called pro reviews were not very good, but I can tell you: I haven't seen critic reviews so far off base in a long time. In this era of extremely weak movies THIS IS DEFINITELY A MUST-SEE.

Bad cops, kill bad cops. Lots of blood, and that's all. Tiring after a short while......Hugh Laurie as an acid-tongued internal-affairs captain is disappointingly just Dr. House without the limp.
