I think Routh is a pretty good Clark/Kal-El/Superman but being a big Smallville fan I think Tom Welling would've been a much better choice for Supes and I also think Erica Durance is a much better, hotter, and pluckier Lois Lane. Kate Bosworth is too vanilla for Lois and falls flat in my eyes. I am looking forward to the sequel though.

Doomsday needs to come in and bring the action, we get it he's back now he needs to really fight for truth, justice, and the american way! <3 P.S. today 10/10/09 is the anniversary of the real life superhero: Chrisopher Reeve.....He fought his way through being a quadreplegic..there is no curse! he is the only man that played superman on screen and in real life even if he couldn't walk!!! =',) he will always be remembered

I feel the best way to recover from the superman returns mess is to somehow write that ridiculous kryptonian island cast into space as a form of birthing or cloning womb for bizarro who is born in the island as of supermans blood and returns to earth believing he is superman until his body rejects earths atmosphere in a short period of time and he takes on a pale form and a warped mental backwards view of what earth should be, causing what was a curious despute to turn into a major battle between the titans as lexcorp is witness to strange almost alien computer activity that paralyzes his company but leaves a curious lex luthor allowing it to happen believing he has all in control...The alien computer downloads and reveals a vast world of information on how to crush superman. his greed blinds him as he is angered by supermans victory over bizarro. He proceeds to build what it asks to stop the kryptonian. All with the belief that he is in control..well...is he?

Brandon Routh needs to muscular up. His S needs to be larger on his chest. He needs to battle a more physical villian like Doomsday Brainiac. Lex Luther needs to show more anger and revenge.

I believe the movie" Superman returns" was superb, I've seen Smallville and Tom's face is too baby like I know he is cute but far from Brandon's cuteness He makes the perfect savior, he has presence and is a good actor fantastic!!!!!

as far a s tom welling, i agree with bswreck, it would ruin smallville, but the kryptonians from the phantom zone has already been done, and an alliance is too stupid, you cant have too many super powered beings in one movie. but the best villian that superman ever faced was darkseid and his minions that would be the only way to redeem the horrificness that was superman returns

You can't bring in Tom Welling it would totally throw off the TV show because he doesn't fly yet in the show. Secondly in order for him to sell it you would need to have the entie cast of Smallville play the parts in the movie. Also it would be hard for the show to catch up to where the movie is. I'm sure doing that would ruin Smallville and I'm not for that.

tom welling should deffo be superman, they should have ended smallville where his mum makes him the suit and he goes to work at daily plannet and thats where they should of carried the movie on from

routh should be replaced with the actor from smallville. as for a villain why not have more than one? as in smallville you could bring in braniac.luthor,bizzaro,and even kryptonians trapped in the phantom zone. they could all form an allegiance and wage a war against superman to destroy him and wreak havoc on the world at the same time.
