Sweeney Todd is my favorite movie. I have seen it five times, I plan to go see it again, and I also have the soundtrack and I listen to it all the time. I do recommend this movie for everyone. The acting was awesome(of course, with Johnny Depp what else can it be?). I loved the songs, this movie is just the best movie I ever saw. Though it does have a lot of blood and heads being cut off and stuff, so even though I do recommend it for everyone (especially horror movie lovers), this movie is not for the faint hearted, or those who cannot stand blood. Anyways, I LOVE this movie, I think it deserves to win an oscar, and I think YOU should go see it.

Brilliant acting and singing, orchestrated by Sodenheim couldn't be any more enriching. Sweeny Todd should win an Oscar in all catagories hand down. Hats off to Helena and all of the cast as well as Johnny Depp. This is the BEST musical I have ever seen. I would see it 100 times. The soundtrack is incredible I listen to it every day I just cannot get enough of Sweeny Todd.Cannot wait to buy the DVD

Seriously, especially if you're like me and didn't know the plot intimately, and were too surprised by the gore the first time to really appreciate the nuances of performance and story.I saw it literally on the heels of having seen "I Am Legend" (also brilliant, but depressing), and it was too many downers in too short a time, which was my mistake. I left asking, "And why did this open on Christmas Day?"Then I bought the "Sweeney" soundtrack, listened to the words and the meanings, and was consumed with a desire to see the film again. The second time it was, well, funny. Johnny's performance was absolutely wonderful, especially in the going-completely-mental "Epiphany", and the subsequent juxtaposition of bloody throatcuttings with paternal sentiments in "Johanna" is so well edited and acted. Now, I can't wait for the DVD.Thanks Tim, Johnny, and Helena, for a terrific film.

sweeney todd is the best movie ever. it has passion revenge and alot of bloody graphics. and tim burton is not afraid to use blood in his films. the costums were amazing such darkness to them. mrs. lovett was played by an awesome actress. helena broham carter is such a talented actress. this is my favorite movie she has been in. who knew that helean had such a high pitch voice she deserved that role and did a fantastic job with it. she was the perfect person for this role.and who can forget the talented actor johnny depp. this was a challedge for depp. but his singing amazed me. his such deep and haunting voice was astonishing to me. from his wonderful work from his movie cry baby about a drape gang leader falls in love with his with a spuare that turns into a drape. was amazing. this goes beyong what he did. sweeney todd is an amazing movie. I DO RECOMEND EVERYONE TO SEE THIS HORROR MOVIE.

I thought this movie was done very well, and of course Tim Burton was BORN to direct this musical! However, though I think Johnny Depp did a fantastic job with the part, I believe there were many people who could have played it. I thought he did a wonderful job, though, and who knew he could sing? Wow.

it obviously didn't do justice to the play, especially because Carter was miscast despite her creepiness in general. The character of Mrs. Lovett with dealt with unsuccessfully IMO because the audience is not supposed to feel sympathy for her at all! Johnny Depp was very good as usual, and deserves accolades for his honest attempt to sing well. The young boy was very impressive too. A bit gratuitous in the gore department, however. Suggestions of throat-slicing may have been more affective than watching each person being slaughtered. Maybe slightly better than good, but not amazing by a longshot.

Trust me you 'O' little peeps of wonder . . . . This movie you will never forget. So original, artistic, funny, horrific, you will never forget it. Only once in a great while does a movie come along thats so different, and refreshingly original, and this is it, that one movie in years that you will never forget. However if you dont like seeing blood flying all around, and lifeless bodies smashing gloriously to the ground head first (LOL) then you may want to avoid this picture.

Gruesome, bloody and weird. Everything you would expect from Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Tim Burton. Great movie.
