When I saw 93% viewer score up there; I thought GREAT! Another independent film with good reviews. Normally, I love the most querky and the deepest independent films. BUT, this movie was terrible! I gave it two stars because the acting was good. The movie moved like a snail on an uphill climb! I thought the characters were lame and ignorant for the most part. That being said; don'******* this
Excellent acting. I wanted to tell the characters to wake up and smell the roses. Get a life and get on with it. Life is what you make it. You just have it too good and are bored.
This would have been much more believable and clearer if Margo had been a bit less crazy acting. I can't remember when I've seen a role played with more confusion as to behavior. Is she crazy, or is she just immature, or what?

By never standing back from Margot, the movie courts vagueness as well. Full Review

Take This Waltz, Sarah Polley's honest, sure-footed, emotionally generous second feature. Ms. Williams, one of the bravest and smartest actresses working in movies today, portrays a young woman who is indecisive and confused, but never passive. Full Review

Somehow it is the waiting - for the fall that you expect is coming, for the marriage you figure will fall apart - that makes Take This Waltz one to make room for on your dance card. Full Review

Williams is hampered by her character's limitations. What results is a mannered tale of an immature, empty vessel. Full Review

Take This Waltz is full of chance encounters, some less likely than a lobby with nine hundred windows or a bed where the moon has been sweating. Full Review
