Don Cheadle, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cedric the Entertainer, Taraji P. Henson and Martin Sheen were extraordinary in this movie. I laughed, cried and was simply amazed at the history of the radio station and the educational aspects of this awesome movie. Don Cheadle can invade my movie theatre any day with movies like this one. The best thing is that everyone who was fortunate enough to see it said

This movie was great, it did exactly what it set out to do-make me laugh and cry, think and re-think but most of all remember why I love the men that I love (Dr.King, Ali, James Brown, John and Bobby Kennedy) so much form the erra in which I grew up. I am so glad that I got a chance to meet Mr. Peetey Green-You Go Boy and Don YOU GO and GET YOUR AWARD.Loved this movie and it's actors 5 stars..

I did not want to go see this movie. It didn't sound interesting , it had no power to its preview that I viewed on TV. The only reason I attended this movie to make my boyfriend happy. This movie makes you laugh (very very funny in many parts), cry, and be inspired (very very inspiring). I was deeply touched by this movie. The acting, the screenplay was absolutely superb. Don Cheadle deserves an Academy Award for his performance. The true story of Petey Green shows that even an alcoholic ex-convict can make a difference and be loved by so many. The only complaint I have is

For a movie that celebrates the power of speech, Talk to Me is oddly tongue tied. Its dialogue, equal parts uptight honky and jumping jive seems, particularly in the early stretches, to have been generated by a computer. Full Review

The result is a movie that offers uplift without phoniness, history without undue didacticism and a fair number of funny, dirty jokes. Full Review

With its R&B soundtrack and footage of civil unrest, Talk to Me might seem to cover familiar ground. But as an intimate portrait of the complex, fruitful and extremely volatile friendship between trailblazing African American men whose daring came to redefine an industry, it's fresh and revelatory.
