The 11th Hour is a bit like "An Inconvenient Truth" at Woodstock: a little spacey, a little preoccupied with self-love and prone to the occasional freakout. show more

If you get through the first hour without slitting your throat, the cautiously optimistic last third offers some intriguing options. show more

An impassioned ecology-themed documentary that ultimately is more rewarding for informational than cinematic reasons. show more

The word bears repeating, so everyone from Andrew Weil to Stephen Hawking to Mikhail Gorbachev is here to speak the still-inconvenient truth. The filmmaking, however, is far more relentless than in that Oscar-winning Al Gore slide show. show more

As The 11th Hour's message of Profound Importance warrants a four-star rating, the film itself does not. show more

if you want to see a "who's who" of progressive thought on sustainable development, sustainable energy etc as well as great leaders in the environmental/government/progressive business area -- here they are. What a wonderful effort from so many "great" minds and thinkers of the times who've come together to lend their voice in this film. Beautiful and inspiring scenery footage - scenes from around the world. It will make you fall in love with planet earth again if you've fallen out of it.

Many of the talking heads in the movie were interviewed in the Sundance Channel's TV series "Big Ideas for a Small Planet". Much of the interviewing focuses on individuals ideas and opinions but as a documentary should include more evidence and data. I think an Inconvient Truth told a more compleling story. I think the overall message is important but I'm critical of this film as particularily good at delivering that message.
