  • The film is an improvement on previous Sparks moody-doomed-love opuses such as “The Last Song” and “Dear John.” If that is damning with faint praise, the cogs here are the same as in his previous love machines show more

  • What makes it slightly better than the others is an affable, low-key chemistry between James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan as star-crossed lovers. show more

  • The Best of Me is neither worse than his other films nor particularly better. At 118 minutes, it is, however, one of the longest. Interminably long, dragging out its molasses heart through what seem like three different endings. show more

Watchable, but a bit trite. The younger Marsden looks older than the 20-year older Marsden. Bad casting. The ending was predicable but still a nice touch to a semi-boring, winding story.

Best movie I have seen in a long time - Nicholas Sparks comes through every time for a great story line. This is a must see movie.

Saw this movie last night. A lot of things were different from the book, however it was still a good movie. Entertaining at the least, but I will agree that it is not my favorite of all the Nicholas Sparks movies. To those saying the ending was cheesy- it was how it happened in the book (mostly)
