Don't try to compare Batman 1989 with The Dark Knight. The movies do not come close to each other. Heath Ledger transforms the Joker into a much darker, twisted character than that played by Jack Nicholson. They are both good movies, but entirely different. That being said, find time in the week to go see this movie. Far from a family flick, The Dark Knight is what summer blockbusters are all about. The amount of action, gunfire, and explosions makes this movie great to see on the big screen with speakers all around. I must admit, after Batman Begins, I was sceptical about the new one. Lay your doubts aside. This is a must see for anyone who has ever even heard of Batman.

However, I thoroughly enjoyed "Batman Begins" and I have been looking forward to this movie. I was skeptical of all the Oscar buzz surrounding the movie and Heath Ledger's performance. However, after seeing a pre-screening of the film tonight, I cannot find a negative thing to say about it. Whether Heath Ledger's death was accidental or not, it does not negate the fact that he was a brilliant actor in life, and this movie is positively no exception. He was phenomenal.Everything about this movie was good. Not just Mr. Ledger's performance, but the performances of all the actors... Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart and Maggie Gyllenhaal were all wonderful as well. The story was great, and had a great message. The special effects and cinematography were top-notch. This will easily be THE summer blockbuster. Take the time to see it. If you have a pulse, you won't be disappointed!!

I really can't wait to see this movie. I was only about 8 years old when Jack Nicholson played the joker. I personally think he is the best funny-mad man i know that plays a brilliant joker. I want to see if Heath can live up to the legend that i grew up knowing/ From the previews I've seen he looks like he might. I think this might actually be his best work. So i guess we will ALL have to see :-)

What truly amazes me is after someone dies they are automatically a brillant actor. I personally have not seen much of Heath's work . Another thing that amazes me is makeovers of old movies and series are always much more evil and that is a good thing? I am proud to say I grew up in an era where filth, porn and smut were not allowed on tv, we as a family would watch decent and clean shows together at night, our parents knew where there kids were. I as a grandparent am appalled at all the evil in the movie and music world, and you wonder why our young people are going down the tubes? I feel for those who are growing up in such a mixed up and confusing time. Marlene
