The Day The Earth Stood Still

Without getting into the politics, which obviously some people don't understand CAN'T be divorce from any media, my only regret is that I expected to get the chills I had when I saw the original version...that was a truly frightening movie in a visceral way. This was entertaining, but a far cry from dad!!

As with the remake of "The War of the Worlds" the producer for 'Day' just had to put in a dysfunctional family situation. Don't know why sci-fi movies have to deal with 'human stories' anyway. Sci-fi should be about technology with an underlying futuristic human condition moral. 'War' and 'Day' both lose direction by putting too much emphasis on the human story....a screwed-up

well ... there were good and bad... THE GOOD--- Keanu Reeves, i think, performed excellent. The acting was fine, the way the story flows was great, and the dramatic sequences were outstanding. THE BAD --- the movie dragged a TINY BIT. The action was obviously CGI and the boy was absolutely VERY ANNOYING (not really a big deal) but he was.... OVERALL RATING----- 8.7/10
