What's never explained is why anyone would do such a dumb remake of Robert Wise's 1951 sci-fi classic. show more
An entertaining rethink of the 1951 classic. show more
Despite the best efforts of stars Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly, this new "Day" is tired and corny. show more
Without getting into the politics, which obviously some people don't understand CAN'T be divorce from any media, my only regret is that I expected to get the chills I had when I saw the original version...that was a truly frightening movie in a visceral way. This was entertaining, but a far cry from dad!!
Would have been much better with less whiny cute kid and more Keanu
As with the remake of "The War of the Worlds" the producer for 'Day' just had to put in a dysfunctional family situation. Don't know why sci-fi movies have to deal with 'human stories' anyway. Sci-fi should be about technology with an underlying futuristic human condition moral. 'War' and 'Day' both lose direction by putting too much emphasis on the human story....a screwed-up personal human story. And both times this mechanism takes away from the powerful theme Sci-fi is supposed to deliver.
