I loved the original 1951 version,I have owned it on VHS and DVD.I still watch it several times a year. Its a great Sci-fi classic, you need to view the original.Like other Sci-fi enthusiasts,I hope they do a good job in this remake.I have been waiting for decades for a remake.I'm surprised it hasn't been attempted before now.I am excited and hopeful and will definitely go see it in December. If it is even remotely good I'll probably by the DVD next year too.I expect the movie to be a little "preachy" the first one was,the visit was prompted after all because mankind had entered the atomic age.So it will be interesting to see the occasion of this visit, global warming/pollution,war,wasted natural resources and extinction of animals and the rainforests?

You bet I'm going to go see it. Keanu Reeves is just right to play Klatu, he is perfect for the role. I hope there is a little romance in this one, the first one left that out. Keanu Reeves can rock my world anytime, lol.

I've enjoyed movies in my life both originals & remakes & from the little I see from this web site it is missing a lot of pezass, instead of the remake for this movie I think it should have been a continuing of the story, what I would like to see is that KLATU after many years has been aling & every one on his planet is worried about him passing on since people on his planet normaly live longer, & everyone knows Klatu was killed on earth decades before when he was chosen to take that v important message to earth & Gort revived him ,reports of the progress of earth have'nt improved since the final warning was given & the talk on Klatu's planet is of concern that one of the patroling roberts may be ready to reduce the earth to a "BURNED OUT CINDER" so they sent another one to not only warn the earth but try to convince all on earth to go back to FARMING since that's the only time when there is less trouble & most of all no war sincerely; HRM Caease St. Augustine de Buonaparte Emperor

I have been a sci-fi fan since I was a child. And I must say the original movie is one of my favorites. As was the war of the worlds. And I must say the remake of war of the worlds. Had me disappointed when I seen the previews. Because I was expecting a carbon copy of the original I'm guessing. So after stewing about it for a couple days I decided to read the original book since I had never read it. Come to find out the Steven Spielberg war of the worlds is actually more like the book. If you've never read this book I suggest you do. It is very well written and very timeless. It's hard to think this book was wrote in the late 18 hundredths. So like many of you I was happy and a little worried when I seen the first trailer for this movie. All I can do now is wait and see. Remember it's just a movie good bad or indifferent. So at least went to the movie comes out before you start bashing it.

I hope the movie is better than this trailer....Keanu Reeves as Klatu????? His acting skills are better suited to playing Gort. I mean does anyone else think the scene where he is being interrogated is funny? Or the last dramatic scene in the forest?? Sounds like Will Ferrel.

Are you kidding me? Once again Hollywood has taken a great movie and destroyed it. Just because we can animate things doesn't give us the right to toally screw up other things. Sheesh! you have got to be kidding me about this movie. In the orginal there was a hidden message about how humans are way too distructive for themselvs and need to slow down with their technological monstroscities, such as war, nucler weapons, and the way they treat their fellow man. In this remake it's all about going green. When you people wake up? The earth is dying and there is nothing that no one can do about it. Lets be realistic Ok? Everything dies and the earth is on it's way as well. Am I being too critical? No, because we need to stop trying to send stupid messages about globle warming. There is no such thing.Anyway, so far from waht I have seen this movie sucks, just like the remake of War of the Worlds twice over. I wish someon for once would actually stick to the script and stop going off one these little my way is the best way, because it isn't, it's sickning. Maybe Gork and Klaatue need to come abck and show them how to really make a good movie.

OMG I was eight years old when our family went to the Drive-In movies (you, who are as old as dirt will remember) I remember it as if it was yesterday. When you see a movie witha creative original premise, even if you are only 8 and it was almost 60 years ago, you never forget. My Dad loved sci-fi so we saw everything that came out in the 50's. I can't wait to see this new The Day
